Ryan Seacrest has come under fire online from several American Idol fans for his “mean” behavior during Monday night’s episode of the singing competition series.

The 48-year-old TV personality didn’t throw a punch as she spoke to several of the show’s contestants about their potential losses, and told one, “You sang losing yourself for love me”. We could lose you tonight.

The media figure, who recently left Live With Kelly and Ryan, later faced condemnation from many of the show’s fans who were concerned about his treatment of the show’s contestants.

Several watchers voiced their opinion of Seacrest on Reddit, where one wrote, “We could lose you tonight” was so mean omg.

One user said the radio host was “not softening any blows” with his comment, which another described as “just the wrong thing”.

Another individual wrote that the media figure was ‘so ad*** tonight’ and his conduct was ‘brutallllll AF’.

One particularly sarcastic user advised Seacrest to be more clear when squashing these people.

One Reddit user, however, praised the media personality’s actions while hosting the program.

They said he “kept this episode moving at a breakneck pace without it feeling rushed.” That’s why he deserves his salary.

Seacrest has hosted American Idol since its inception in 2002.

The radio host was paired with Brian Dunkleman while hosting the show’s first season.

The program originally ran for fifteen seasons in total before ending in 2016.

However, the show was later revived in 2018 and has been on the air ever since.

Seacrest previously spoke to The Hollywood Reporter and said American Idol has changed the way entertainment industry figures view contestants on TV shows.

“I think there was a time when you weren’t really accepted if you won a TV competition in the music business, but that’s changed,” he said.

The media figure went on to say that he feels like American Idol will be running for many years to come.

“I think this format and this series has the ability to live with generations and other generations grow up watching it to try and be the next winner,” he said.
