‘Little’ Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could upstage the coronation of King Charles by throwing a birthday party for their son, Archie, according to a royal expert.

The little prince is due to turn 4 on May 6 – the same day his grandfather will be officially crowned and consecrated in a historic ceremony at Westminster Abbey.

While the eyes of the world will be on the royal debates, royal columnist Lee Cohen claims the Sussexes could get noticed by hosting a competing celebration for their son.

“It’s terribly petty, but the Sussexes, who no longer have their royal platform, seem to relish any opportunity to try and upstage a royal occasion,” Cohen told the Express.

“It’s not like the royal family is looking for opportunities to upstage the antics of the Sussexes, quite the contrary.”

Last week it was revealed that Archie would not be present at Charles’ coronation. Instead, the youngster will stay at home in Montecito, Calif., with his mother Markle and baby sister Princess Lilibet.

The news only fueled rumors that Markle will be throwing a party for her boy, with the Mirror quoting a source as saying: “Meghan’s mum, Doria Ragland, will be at the party, along with the preschool friends of ‘Archie and famous friends of the couple. .”

The publication claims that Oprah Winfrey, Serena Williams, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi could be in attendance if there is indeed a celebration on May 6.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry has confirmed he will be traveling to London for the coronation, but is only expected to stay in the city for hours.

The Mirror reports that the wayward royal may even be heading home to Montecito for Archie’s birthday on the afternoon of May 6.

A source told Page Six that there was will be to be a celebration for Archie, but insists it will be low key.

“Harry is going to do everything he can to get back in time for Archie’s birthday,” the source said. “It’s going to be an intimate party, it’s not going to be like ‘My Super Sweet 16’ or Portia de Rossi’s 50th!”

Even if there isn’t a full-scale birthday bash, the Sussexes could still distract from the coronation by posting a new photo of Archie, Cohen explained.

The royal columnist explains that it’s customary for the couple to post pictures of their children to mark their milestone anniversaries, and this year may be no exception.

However, others have defended the Sussexes’ right to throw a party for Archie, saying the Royal Family were mean-spirited for choosing to hold the coronation on his birthday.

“May 6th is Archie’s birthday and has been since 2019. This date has been chosen by this group of people in London to eclipse a toddler’s birthday,” a Sussex supporter said. said on Twitter.

Harry has confirmed he will attend his father’s coronation, but is only expected to stay in London for a few hours.

Speculation over Archie’s birthday comes amid the drama surrounding the upcoming coronation.

A report claims King Charles is ‘disappointed’ Markle will not be attending the ceremony.

However, another source alleged that sister-in-law Kate Middleton ‘stopped’ the ex-actress from attending.
