Pete Davidson has announced that his beloved dog has passed away in a new post shared by his close friend Dave Sirius.
The 29-year-old comedian said his dog Henry “got very sick very quickly” and died aged two, according to the message posted by the comedian and writer.
In the ‘message from Pete’, the actor – who met ex-girlfriend Kim Kardashian at the 2023 Met Gala on Monday – also opened up about how Henry saved his life.
“Hi guys,” Davidson – who doesn’t have a social media account on Instagram – wrote. “I know today is Bupkis premiere day but I want to use today to remember my dog Henry.”
Earlier Thursday, his action-comedy TV series Bupkis premiered on Peacock.
He shared various images of Henry in the carousel post with himself as well as his sister, Casey.
“Yesterday we lost a key member of the Davidson family,” the Bodies Bodies star shared. ‘Henry was only 2 years old but unfortunately he fell very ill very quickly.
“My mom, my sister and I had Henry at the start of the pandemic and he saved our lives,” he shared in the sentimental post. ‘I’m not even sure I’d be here without him.’
The New York native continued, “He was the happiest, sweetest dog ever. He got mad when he saw me and peed everywhere.
In the post, the former Saturday Night Live cast member revealed that he never watches any of his work with anyone except Henry.
“When I worked at SNL, my mom would send me videos of him staring, smiling, and making noise when I came on screen,” he shared.
“I never really watch my stuff with anyone because I’m too scared, but I didn’t mind watching with Henry. He really was the best,’ Davidson said.
“My mom, sister and I are broken and will be forever missed,” he shared. “We love you Henry. Thank you for making our lives fuller and reminding me of what really matters.
Previously, Davidson opened up about his beloved pooches on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in November 2021.
“I had three dogs during the pandemic because it was tough,” he told the talk show host.
The devastating news comes days after her return to Saturday Night Live was canceled due to the Writer’s Guild of America strike.
Davidson was set to make his debut as host of the now-dropped episode that had rapper Lil Uzi Vert slated for musical guest.
